Dementia can create misunderstanding, frustration and distance between you and your loved one. You want to help, but you’re not always sure how.
At Tidal Living, we help with…

We combine specialist home care with evidence-based psychological approaches so your loved one can stay in the place they know best, while you feel supported, understood and less alone.
As a CQC-registered home care provider, Tidal Living offers a full range of dementia and Alzheimer’s care services across London. Whether you need a few hours of support each week or round-the-clock care, our dementia carers deliver personalised, psychology-informed support in your loved one’s own home.
Our dementia home care services include: personal care and daily living support, medication management with pharmacy-informed guidance, cognitive stimulation activities supervised by a psychotherapist, behaviour and distress management, family carer training and guidance, home environment safety assessments, and flexible care packages from hourly visits to live-in care.
Every service begins with a free home care assessment so we can understand your loved one’s needs and recommend the right level of support.

When home life starts to feel confusing, we provide light housekeeping, laundry and simple meal prep, supporting familiar routines which keep daily life steady.
Worried about missed doses, double-dosing, or side effects? With pharmacy-informed guidance, we facilitate clear medication routines and safe administration, encouraging regular reviews with your GP or pharmacist when needed.
When days feel empty or confidence drops, we provide psychotherapist-led CST activities tailored to the person’s interests, life story and abilities to support individual communication, attention and wellbeing.
When bathing, dressing or toileting becomes difficult, we use calm step-by-step prompts, privacy and choice to protect dignity and reduce distress, supporting families with practical strategies that work at home.
Worried about falls or unsafe moments? We support safer moving around the home and gentle walks, implementing practical home-safety tweaks such as decluttering, lighting and bathroom support to reduce risk and build confidence.
Engaging in conversation, providing warm, unhurried company. This can include talking, sharing stories, watching a favourite programme or sitting quietly together.

Dementia is not one condition — it includes Alzheimer’s disease, vascular dementia, Lewy body dementia, frontotemporal dementia, and mixed dementia. Each type affects the brain differently and requires a different care approach. At Tidal Living, every carer receives condition-specific training so your loved one gets care matched to their actual diagnosis.
CST is a structured, supportive programme that helps people with dementia keep thinking skills active through enjoyable conversation and activities.

At Tidal Living, our unique strengths are:
Our director personally oversees every aspect of care, from staff training to family communication to individual support, ensuring that nothing gets missed. Every care plan is guided by psychotherapy principles, giving emotional and mental wellbeing as much attention as practical tasks like medication administration, household routines, and health management.
Our director, Sabbir Ahmed (UKCP-registered psychotherapist), provides regular clinical supervision and training, and all carers take part in reflective practice groups. This reflection and supervision is linked with better person-centred care, higher quality of practice, crucial when supporting people and families living with dementia.
Alongside human relationships, we use safe, GDPR-compliant technology to track patterns in wellbeing, medication and risk, led by a team with pharmacy and data-analytics expertise. Our co-director Umar Alvi is an MPharm graduate; at Tidal Living, we bring together clinical psychotherapy and pharmaceutical expertise.
We match carers to clients based on personality, skills and interests, involving families in shaping each care plan. Our aim is to build warm, consistent relationships that facilitate personalised, meaningful activities for people living with dementia.

Have questions about caring for a loved one with dementia at home?
Our dedicated team is here to help. We can:
Yes. Tidal Living is registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and regulated to provide domiciliary care. Our dementia and Alzheimer's home care services are delivered by trained carers under the supervision of our director, Sabbir Ahmed, a UKCP-registered psychotherapist.
Home care can be helpful at many stages, but individuals often benefit best from home care in the early to intermediate stages of dementia. This allows your loved one to stay in the place they know best while building familiarity and routine. Our carergivers can help with daily tasks, medication, mobility and engaging in beneficial activities, while our psychotherapist-led approach helps individuals and their families manage changes in mood or behaviour.
Yes. Dementia is a progressive condition, so our care is designed to evolve over time. We review care plans regularly, drawing on clinical input from health professionals and feedback from you and your loved one. As needs change, we can adjust visit length, frequency and focus; for example, adding more personal care, falls prevention, or emotional and psychological support, ensuring that help always feels appropriate and dignified.
It’s very common for people living with dementia to feel unsure or anxious about carers coming into their home. Our team works slowly and respectfully, taking time to listen, get to know the person’s story and build trust. We match carers based on personality and interests, introduce support gradually and avoid rushing changes to established routines. Our psychology-led approach also helps us understand what might sit behind resistance – such as fear, confusion or loss of control – and respond in a calm, reassuring way.
Care can often begin within a few days of your initial assessment. Call us on 0203 576 1970 to arrange a free, no-obligation home visit, and we'll work with you to start support as soon as possible.
Whether it’s a few hours of help each week or round-the-clock live-in care, our team focuses on what matters most: dignity, independence and genuine human connection.
